History of Atlantic Hotels Pvt. Ltd.

S Chand & Co. Ltd opened three hotels namely Hotel Tourist & Hotel Tourist Deluxe at Ram Nagar, Qutab Road, New Delhi & acquired Atlantic Hotel, Chennai in the year 1981. Hotel Tourist came into existence in the year 1964 & Hotel Tourist Deluxe came into existence in the year 1987.

We have experience of almost three decades of running hotels of different sizes & categories. The Board of Directors of S Chand & Co. Ltd in the year 2003 gave consent to a blue paper spelling out business plan regarding hotel growth. The board took a consensus decision to infuse capital in order to improve the conditions of the existing hotels & also at the same time look out for more development either through acquisition or buying land for further development.

The board of S Chand & Co. Ltd ratified & endorsed the blue paper prepared by hotel professionals to whom they hired .Today S Chand & Co. Ltd boast of a separate hotel division by the name of "ATLANTIC HOTELS PVT. LTD." working independently to ensure overall growth of Hotel Division. The professionals are striving to reach Pinnacles of the Hotel Industry by synergizing all the energies towards building two pillars namely the BUDGET chain & the PREMIUM chain .

Development of Hotel Division

Hotel division of S Chand & Co. Ltd. started developing budget chain & premium chain simultaneously.

In the year 2004-05, a total refurbishing & renovation of the existing hotels under the budget segment was done.

The year 2004-05 was also the year of well thought planning initiated with keeping in mind to enter premium segment in a big way. Atlantic Hotel, Chennai was chosen to be developed under the premium segment. Atlantic Hotel Chennai planning started in order to reposition to a four star deluxe segment from the existing status of a polished Udipi hotel.

Hotel Tourist Deluxe was renovated in the year 2004-05 & was repositioned from a two star category to a 3 star property ( Department of Tourism, Govt. of India approved). This fully air conditioned hotel has 41 well designed rooms. Hotel also boasts of business centre , multi cuisine coffee shop ,a large conference hall. The expected turnover in the year 2006-07 will be Rs.200 lacs.

In the year 2005-06 we started developing good 3 star budget segment product. It is for a 38 room hotel property situated in Ansari Road Daryaganj.The property has a Locational advantage as it is situated in an area which is prosperous & growing as a “CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT of Delhi & is also known as traders belt of Delhi. It is located within Asia’s biggest publishing den. Daryaganj as a CBD also boasts of a major pharmaceutical belt of Delhi . This hotel project will draw huge inflow of domestic leisure travelers from all parts of the country as well as traders community .
